Each week’s news from the wonderful world of wingnuts is like watching Kirk and Spock beaming down to a new planet controlled by a B&W theocracy derived from early U.S. TV transmissions.

In 2001, thousands of Taliban prisoners were loaded into metal shipping containers with no food, water or air holes before being taken to a mass grave in Dasht-i-Leili, Afghanistan. The Taliban who survived the trip were shot.
Thanks to Bush-Cheney stonewalling, this Nazi-like treatment of P.O.W.s is just now being investigated, some eight years after the crime and only now as the perpetrator, CIA client and Afghan General Abdul Rashid Dostum is being restored to his previous high rank after being exiled to Turkey.
I remember reading this story at Salon and Counterpunch, but there was never a word about any of our war crimes in the daily newspapers.
A good story from James Risen. Too bad he wasn’t allowed to write it in 2001, but the Times was too busy running Judith Miller’s war agitprop back in the day.
An ethical media would cite the real time stories, but we don’t have an ethical media and average Americans will never have a clue how widely known this scandal was to our friends and enemies. Only Americans were kept in the dark.
