Stopbadware.org is a badware site

I don’t know who the fuck stopbadware.org is, but they’ve redirected my Firefox browser twice today and I want it to fucking stop.

First they told me Haaretz was a badware site this morning, now they’re telling me Balloon Juice is. Bull fucking shit. [UPDATE: Stopbadware has BJ under siege, but only if you're on Firefox.]

I’ve gone into the preferences and told Firefox it CANNOT stop me from accessing a site. I’m on a fucking Mac, no harm will come to me because I don’t run Windows. I don’t know what this glitch is, but some anti-malware fucks just fucked with me in a way no virus or malware ever has.

Stopbadware.org can kiss my Mac loving ass. You want to stop malware? Firebomb Microsoft until they agree to stop shipping out buggy operating systems. That will stop malware. Not cheesy authoritarian dogooders with buggy good intentions.

The last one is the most current and deals with speculation that Goldman Sachs has been front-running their customers, i.e., executing their own trades before they do customer trades based on their knowledge of their customer trades. In other words they use your money to make money for themselves, sometimes at your expense. Last I recall, there are about three books of the Old Testament devoted to why God hates it when you do this shit.

When money is used to make money, suddenly everything is about money, and only money. How exactly has that improved our lives? And how have we been enriched by the process of creating bigger and bigger sandpiles for some?

Still, that doesn’t excuse the WaPost taking a picture of Sotomayor doubled up in laughter from Al Franken’s Perry Mason questions and then captioning the photo, “Judge Sonia Sotomayor endures a third day of confirmation hearings.”

Up the road a ways from the snark-filled Post, the WSJ gives space to John Yoo to lie some more about his record. ThinkProgress points out that Yoo never mentions that he refused to cooperate with the investigations that are ripping on his dishonest memos. Can we trust corporate-owned media? I don’t think so. Not on the important issues.

Even less so on the really important issues. This is a fairly stunning link, btw. After China shut down Twitter and mobile phone services to silence the “new democratic media,” they then let the establishment Western reporters into Xinjiang.

I think that says a lot. Real reporters should feel shamed.

I’d hate to close out the day’s blogging without mentioning how gratifying/irritating today’s questions to Sotomayor were. The Republican Senators were obsequious, but couldn’t stop trying to stick a shiv between her ribs.

She’ll be with them on important issues, but they can’t let go of the fact that she won’t be with them on their bullshit social issues.

Ricci is bullshit. Opposition to gay marriage is bullshit. Opposition to the public option is bullshit.
