Rounding up the scare and sharing what’s scarce

Quinn to “schmuck” Obama: No U.S. “dark past” of slavery, “this was the civilization that had the tenacity to end it” (even if Jim Quinn’s great-great-grandpappy wore rebel gray)
Bay Buchanan on “quota queen” Sotomayor: “Her whole life was dedicated to demanding special privileges”

Facing open windows I probably see too much of what goes in my neighborhood, although keeping my driving glasses in the car keeps me from seeing clearly what’s going on. Without my glasses I can’t tell a male jogger from a flat-chested female jogger.
But even without my specs I can tell a homeless person from a person who goes home to a place that has a roof. There’s quite the colony of homeless people wandering my neighborhood this summer. Lots of dreads, lots of camouflage. Just now I watched one of them rummaging through the strip mall dumpsters.
A surprising number of the homeless have dogs now, and not nice doggies. They’re almost all of Euro descent, with dark dirty tans that would lighten by half if they accessed a shower.
It’s not the poverty that worries me. The more people there are sleeping on the ground, the more people there are who will have nothing to lose if the shooting starts.
This is not a well country. Not because of what we don’t have, but because of how the haves gorged themselves at the expense of the have nots, soon to be rebranded as a societal menace, the kind that can’t be monitored by NSA twitterlysts.
I’m giving Obama until November. He doesn’t get a full year in office. Not now, not after how he’s chosen to proceed. Things need to change and if the change isn’t starting to bloom by November, I can’t keep supporting this guy.
Not after his patronizing speech in Ghana.
Not after his suck up meeting with the Pope.
Not after protecting Goldman Sachs from their gross abuse of investors.
But it sucks that even then, he’s the best we’ve got.
If DC ever got nuked while the government was in full session, I don’t think I’m the only American who would sigh, then think it’s all for the best.
Btw, if you lost your copy of 1984 to Amazon’s welshing, here it is in .pdf format. Share it to your heart’s content.

Even in the muggy heat of Memphis, even with Bush gone, it seems like it’s still the dawn of a bright cold day in April.

Excellent I knew this section had a name Section 158. We are starting to write things on the note paper and hurl the paper airplanes onto the field. After all we have no lobbyists and the best we get back from our written notes as constituents are fucking form letters. The children in the reserved seats are starting to pester the order of things as they are starting to think that that looks like fun. This fucking game could truly get started yet…
The great outfield beer truck robbery is underway thanks to the math and the meth. In-between what seems the best thing to do at the time and that place where you realize there are no options.
I think your first collection of columns should be called Section 158 at 13 O‘clock. Besides if you were working on old cars all day the carb cleaner would certainly make you take up meth again.
Via; Crashing the wienermobile
“This monument on the mall should be a shit colored bronze statue of Dick Cheney feeding young men into a meat grinder.” they can not get enough of this the whoopps and howls are rhythmically dancing with the decibels…
“Eventually the forward progress stops altogether and all that’s left is the klangbirding as your mind gets sucked into concentric circles within concentric circles each ending in a klang that sends you back to the tray for another line.” the bleachers become a whole sort of new percussion section as they eat it up!

‘Fuck the Family Guy, it is like examining skidders on your underwear and seeing Jesus.
That gives me an E-bay idea.”

I hear you about Obama, but in the case of Mugabe, I think he kind of had a point about not blaming everything on colonialzation, but he should’ve said more than that, you’re right.
