Googling whether mullahs are having young girls raped before executing them (see updated end of last post), made me appreciate a little more how many iterations I see of some stories.
The bigs are right: when newspapers break a story, the blogs follow. Another part of that equation features the stories that buzz about the blogosphere/foreign press for years before hitting the major U.S. media outlets. The massacre of Taliban prisoners transported in shipping containers wasn’t news to lefty blog readers who followed links to the foreign press in real time.
On the left, that is. On the right the blogs weren’t chasing truth so much as trying to trash others or offer extenuating circumstances in defense of their damaged politicians.
To a truly disinterested third party it must seem as if most of America is OUTRAGED most of the time, but from opposite sides of every issue. To the uniformed or disinterested, it would be easy to call down a pox on all houses.
Easy, but wrong. Lazy and wrong. There isn’t a lefty blog that couldn’t hang up a list of successful predictions. From the get go the left called out Bush’s ridiculous budgets, war plans, and big brotherism. The right? I have never seen or heard of a “conservative” blog doing a post about their successful predictions. Never.
Never.
I googled it. You simply cannot find a rightwing blog that has done a Top Ten Times I Was Fucking Right post. What would they point at? The right was wrong about the war, cutting taxes, loosening regulations, and giving blank checks to corporations. Pressed they offer convoluted victories that had somehow escaped the attention of the rest of us.
It’s hard to think of an issue that’s come up AB (After Blogging) on which the left hasn’t been proven correct. Speaking for myself only, I predicted:
trouble in Afghanistan if we did more than police it and find bin Laden
unholy disaster if we invaded Iraq
massive deficits if Bush kept cutting taxes during war
extreme polarization between Americans if the corporate-owned media did not call out Fox News
I’ll leave you with some more state of the obvious predictions but first there’s some more business at hand.
It does not in any way follow or figure that conservative Americans are less savvy or dumber than liberal Americans. I would never buy that. So why? Why has the right been wrong on just about everything? Why so resistant to admitting they were wrong? Why?
Fuck, that’s where the obvious starts growing to 800-foot Jesus quality jeez how did I not see this coming obviousness. Primary colors. Powerpoint presentation. Obviously obvious.
There may be plenty of geniuses on the left. I’m not one of them but even I could figure out most of the big issues that faced this country better than Bush-Cheney did. Most people could. Most people did.
But not the folks who do Fox News, Rush in the car and churches that aren’t shy about letting the pastor “tell it like it should be.”
The case the left is making has all come together like a car being reassembled. So far all the Bush-Cheney pieces seem to fit, and it doesn’t look like we’ll have any left over. Quid. Fucking. Pro. Torture. Corruption. Lawbreaking.
Bush fucked the pooch, the other guys cheered him on but now none of them want any of the puppies.
Wish I could drown a few of those problem pups in Grover Norquist’s bathtub, but I can’t so here instead are more lego links with which to answer Obama’s fuckups (but harder questions, imho).

Kevin Hoffman on Pawlenty’s week-long, drug-fueled hooker binge [yes, this violates every known principle of good journalism, but ironically, so it's OK except the drug-fueled part which I made up, altho it was speculation based on hearsay from some pretty good imaginary sources and yes, the hookers did end up dead but good lucking proving it)
Blue Texan and Obama on Jim DeMint
Birther nation (PZ has the antidote but oddly it has no effect on the unread [psychosomatic?])
Natzinger being sneaky (once the last atheist is lulled into thinking the Pope’s OK, all the saints and martyrs will come back to eat our brains, and yes, that’s in the next Tom Hanks movie)
Yet another example of my being completely right and the rest of you being sinfully sinning sinners

Rick Joyner mentions to up and coming politicians in the same breath, Bachmann and Palin.
